Swim wear
Let talk about swim wear and double nappy system
We do use the double Nappy System
What does this mean?
What do we Mean by a ‘Double Nappy’?
Lots of swim schools insist on a ‘double nappy’ system and we are one of them, we have been teaching for 8 years and had to close the pool twice but the as we hire from schools then schools have that we hire from have charges us for their teachers time and children’s time for not swimming on those days.
But, this sometimes the double nappy system causes confusion for parents. There are many different brands of swim nappy, so before you buy – it might be best to check with your local swim school or leisure centre
We prefer branded manufacture underneath with a Splashabout on top this brand has saved us many times from closing.
At Little Otters our policy is for all children to wear a double layered nappy system i.e. swim nappy and happy nappy until three years of age. Even if the toddler is potty trained, our pools require a double system. We tend to find it is the toddlers that sometimes forget that they need the loo, as they are so engrossed in the swim lesson. A poo in the pool is very rare, but of course will cause disruption to lessons and the pool will have to be shut down for cleaning.
Don’t let the fact that they are called ‘nappies’ put you off. Happy Nappies look like shorts and in fact, there are some great ones on the market now that are fitted within swim boarder shorts.
Just look at how cool he looks.
One thing is for sure – swimming is a great activity to do with your little one. Shopping for their swim kit can be fun … and of course there are so many different designs and colours to choose from!
Happy swimming everyone!
